The album is collection of covers of songs by artists such as Bob Dylan, john Lee Hooker and Billy Joe Shaver.  All the tracks on the album are stripped down, gritty, soul-bearing interpretations of American gospel, blues, traditional and country songs all personally chosen by Tom and Ethan Johns.
